I think their 2nd album has it (New Born), what was it called... Absolution ?. Yeah I think that was it. Great album, I think I preferthe 2nd and 3rd albums over the 1st and 4th. Though Unintended and Falling Down from 1st were standout. Im a sucker for a melancholic and haunting ballad. The 3rd album has Blackout on it, which is the one I posted.

MySpaceTV Videos: Alterbridge - Find The Real by nathan
Funnily enough, it turns out that not only does Myles Kennedy (singer) have an exceptionally good rock voice, but he can play some sweet guitar too. Check out the solo's on Blackbird (I posted it), the first solo is Myles... pretty nice selection of notes I'd say. Of course Mark kicks ass too, have known that for some time. But truth be told I don't listen to Alter Bridge for guitar solos, I have Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen for that.

Myles has a great rock voice - and actually, the guitar player I was referring to was Mark -

I knew that. I was just saying how I think Myles is a great player in his own right too.

And actually I did not know Myles was a great player too - thanks for the heads up - true talent there.

Yeah, theres a couple of good videos on YouTube of Myles playing guitar. He ain't a virtuoso or anything but he has a pleasant sounding style and has a good ear for it.

Hey, im editing our posts to fix the Quote's, they were a bit messed up lol, looked like we were quoting ourselves. Not touching any of what we actually typed though

Are you into Opeth? Very melancholy they put out 2 albums a few years ago one followed the basic prog/melodic metal formula that they're known for and the other was a nice collection of moody acoustic ballads.

YouTube - Opeth - Windowpane
Some of my old pals like Opeth alot, though truth be told I don't listen to much metal at all, irrespective of the style or subgenre. Not entirely sure why. The heaviest I go is probably Symphony X, Malmsteen and Alter Bridge... which is Hard Rock if it's anything. But what I have heard of Opeth is pretty damn good, but it just doesn't grab me though for some perculiar reason. It should, this track sounds really nice btw. Diggin it. Would be interesting to hear their Acousticy stuff...

I saw Symphony X live. Their guitar player is HUGE. The keyboardist was channeling mozart that night, I'd never seen anything like it. The Devin Townsend band opened for them, and he played tracks from most of his projects, It was an amazing show. I don't listen to much metal or hardcore anymore. Most of the bands I loved either broke up, or like the metal bands I was into (In Flames, Soilwork), they changed their sound to appeal to the mainstream american "nu-metal" crowd. The last metal cd I bought would probably be Gwar's last CD. I'm more into indie rock, and old Jazz.
