"I Am Legend"
Charlson Hestoner and Vincince Price eat your earts out. Will Smith's the new "last man on Earth" guy.
The scenery of an abandoned and increasingly overgrown New York City was completely believable. Deer running through streets fissured by grass. Zoo lions turning the urban jungle into their own. And one guy walking- or driving, an empty shell of civilization, hunting, gathering, shopping and seeking a cure for those dwealing in darkness. There's a Christian theme that's subtle at first, but then overplayed near the climax, but enough of a more scientific frame of mind allows Will Smith's character to keep this mostly in check. But the take home message I got from this movie? It's all runnin' smooth until you fuck with a man's dog. That shit ain't right! All in all, GOOD science fiction. Will Smith better get an award nomination for his role.

And for those who're Bob Marley fans you'll like the extra theme, which I say was the prime metaphore for the movie.

Nah, it would be cool - till something happened that required medical treatment. Imagine not having to worry about how much bloody tool costs, just finding the damn thing and using it. Just imagine what one could accomplish with such resources available. So what if an idea did not work out, there would not be some moron whining that you spent too much money. Instead we are stuck in this fucking trap.....

The Heston version's pretty good, though there's clearly an anti-Black Panther/anti-disaffected you theme to it. The Vincent [just now I realize what you were refering to on spelling ] Price version before that really left a hell of a lot to be desired. So just act like Charlston Heston's is the first.
