Sweeney Todd

I saw the movie earlier today. Wondering if anyone else saw it yet and their thoughts. Not sure what I was expecting, but I had very high hopes about this movie and didn't like it at all. It's getting great reviews too so maybe I am missing something here??

I really liked it, and I was surprised after hearing the original broadway soundtrack (Which i really fucking hated).

My son planns to take me soon. I'm a Depp fan. He's got good facial features.
Like his acting as well the roles he takes. And he's just a dollbaby!

And an awesome singer to boot. He was better than whoever sang in the original broadway soundtrack.

Sweeny Todd was his first attempt at singing in a film. They dubbed in another singer for all the other movies he was in "Crybaby, Corpse Bride".

if i remember my depp history, he was trying to get a band together when he got a break in acting. everyone sang very well, including carter. i thought the eye make up went a little overboard as they sunk deeper and deeper into murder and madness.

While at AFI I saw him play guitar and do back up vocals behind Gibby Haynes, Flea and the drummer from Jane's Addiction in this band called P. I still listen to the cd often. Some great tunes on there including a fantastic cover of the Daniel Johnston song "I Saved Cigarette Butts."

You would do that to me. I'm on my forth day with no smoking! Doing good though.

Johnny Depp is so talented in everything he does. He does sing well. I just found many parts of this movie extremely boring. I would have liked more Alan Rickman too!
