National Treasure, Book of Secrets

I will say this......at the end of the film the audience did give applause and while leaving I heard more than one person say they thought it was better than the original......but I didn't.

There are way too many loose ends in this film. Why put them in the plot unless you are going to go all the way with it.

Now, I did run for a refill on my popcorn and missed the entire Statue of Liberty scene, and I had to use the facilities near the end so I missed some of the "Trapped in the cave" scene". No spoiler warning needed as this gives nothing away. Nor does saying anything about page 47 give anything away. But if anyone else who saw this movie knows what the outcome of that little plot development was, wishes to explain what the it to me....I would sure appreciate it.....otherwise I am clueless. I asked my spouse if they explained what the reference was about but he said they never got back to it.

In short, the film did not have the quality of writing of the last film nor did it have the same historical references that made you think about history having value. It actually confused two separate civilizations and that pissed me off. The American Indians of North America did not build Aztec style stone temples.

The movie came across to me as an Indiana Jones rip off. The only real saving Grace to the film is that every actor from the original movie reprised their roles for the sequel and that is almost unheard of theses days.

The movie was a fantasy adventure film. There are always loose ends in fantasy adventure films. As for page 47 that was the set up for the next one. I enjoyed the movie, it was not spectacular but worth watching.
