Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers Live From Gainesville airing on PBS- January 10 and January 17, 2008
On September 21, 2006 Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers played a sold out show at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in Gainesville, FL to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the band. We are excited to announce that PBS Soundstage will air the entirety of this memorable gig in two parts on January 10 and January 17, 2008. Soundstage airs at 10pm local time on your local PBS station. That live verson of "breakdown" all the classic rock stations play is one of the best live rock songs I've heard. So basic, just those few bass guitar notes rolling for like 10 minutes with Petty going back and forth between the song and a story of him hitting on a chick. I wish I were old enough to have caught this guy in concernt in the '70s or '80s.
