2008 Petty Tour Announced !!!

TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS LAUNCH MAJOR SUMMER TOUR ACROSS THE U.S. AND CANADA TICKETS GO ON SALE FEBRUARY 4 FOLLOWING THE GROUPıS HIGHLY ANTICIPATED SUPER BOWL XLII HALFTIME SHOW

TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS announce an upcoming summer tour that will take the band through the U.S. and Canada. The news comes as the Heartbreakers prepare for the biggest show in live entertainment, the SUPER BOWL XLII HALFTIME SHOW, broadcast live on FOX Sunday, February 3. All tour tickets, with a few exceptions (see below) will go on sale February 4th, the day after the Super Bowl festivities. Watched by nearly 140 million people in the U.S. and one billion in 230 countries and territories worldwide, the Halftime Show will give the world a preview of the legendary live act that will storm the U.S. and Canada in a few short months. For more information, people can go to tompetty.com or simply pick up tickets at ticketmaster.com .
The 2008 summer tour follows on the heels of a remarkable few years in which Tom and the Heartbreakers have gone from strength to strength. The band's sold-out thirtieth anniversary tour was the biggest of their career. The Peter Bogdanovich-directed documentary Runninı Down A Dream, a commercial and critical success for the band, established the Heartbreaker's story as a striking embodiment of the American Dream. After the film premiered at the 2007 New York Film Festival, audiences worldwide saw the Heartbreakers' story of triumph both in theaters and at home. With the massive Super Bowl Halftime Show taking the momentum one notch higher, the summer tour promises to be a further affirmation that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are indeed one of the best live bands in the business. As in past years, the Heartbreakers will travel with a very special, handpicked support act. Previous tours have featured special guests including Jackson Browne, Pearl Jam, the Strokes, the Allman Brothers, Stevie Nicks, and others. This summer tour continues the tradition of great musical packages, with legend Steve Winwood opening every show.

I don't see Alabama on there. The Foo Fighters (Teri Loves Dave Grohl) were here last weekend. They almost canceled because 5 or 6 snowflakes fell that day. I have to say, I'm not that into live concerts so much anymore. My 16 yo is now carrying that mantle.

"Running Down a Dream" - the movie?

It's TiVo'd, but I haven't had time to watch all of it yet. My 16 yo guitar FREAK loved it. You can't believe the size of the amp he just got. I need earthquake insurance.

They are top notch musicians, and they play live as good as they do in the studio.
That's really why i like the group.
The girls like Tom's "thighs" or his hair . whatever.
I watch the instruments in concert.

Mike Campbell is the best lead guitarist I've seen in a long time.
vastly underrated.

Tom Petty & the heath breakers Band and Steve Winwood

This summer is going to be hot, not the weather but the events which are going to be so hot. Tom Petty and the english singer Steve Winwood with the band Heartbreakers are going to tour in US and Canada and hundreds of the fans will attend the concerts. Thus, ticket prices without dout are going to be so hot. I do love Tom's music and I hope I could have time to watch him with the fabulous Steve. But, I'll try hard to find the best offered price by ticket brokers. There's a website that do this comparison for free. I think you mayneed this link:
