Burn After Reading

I am a HUGE Cohen Brothers fan. They have a piece in the works that actress Tilda Swinton described as a "monster on crack". It's titled "Burn After Reading", and it stars: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Swinton, John Malkovich, and Frances McDormand.

IMDb describes the plotline: "A disk containing the memoirs of a CIA agent ends up in the hands of two unscrupulous gym employees who attempt to sell it."

Tidbits in the IMDb forum: Filiming is being done using the Red One Camera. (It has the ability to pick up natural light with unbeatable resolution.)

Anyone else heard about this flick?

No.....but I would love to know more about this Red ONe Camera.

Good idea for a thread!

We don't get out to the movie theatres that much anymore. At about $9 per ticket, and $14 for popcorn and soda for two....it really has to be something I am looking forward to.

This does sound interesting though....I like the Cohen brothers.

Brideshead Revisited (2008)

OK, this isn't going to cause evryone here to jump for joy it but it is interesting. Originaly, the remake of the Evelyn Waugh novel was set to star Jude law and Paul Bettany....but for some reason they are not in it.

I don't know what other changes have been made but as I understand it, the story will not center around the love relationship between the two men but will instead center on the relationship between Charles Ryder and Julia Flyte. We shall see if that is true considering the relationship between Sabastian and Charles is the central theme throughout the novel. I have not read it yet but sounds like "Pride and Prejudice" without the happy ending. I loved both that novel and all of the film versions. I guess I am a Romantic at heart.

Some may remember that it was the 1981 BBC/PBS mini series that launched the careers of Jeromy Irons and Anthony Andrews. Andrews doing less well as Irons.

The current production stars; The original film had great importance to me as I had just graduated from high school and had come out for the first time and the showing of this miniseries made me feel like it was not abnormal.

Soundtrack is very beautiful....here is a small clip from the original 1981 version with the music;

The Day The Earth Stood Still (2008)
I can't believe I didn't here about this sooner.
Cast
Production

Scott Derrickson will direct a screenplay written by Ryne Douglas Pearson and David Scarpa. Filming began in Vancouver on December 12, 2007.[5] Tyler Bates was hired to compose the score in January 2008.[6]
The film was originally scheduled for release on May 9, 2008, but was delayed because filming commenced later than scheduled. It is due for release on December 12, 2008.[7]
