What does Brittney's sex life have to do with her drug abuse?

Why does the press, and when I say the press, I'm talking about CNN at their prime time slot, mention Brittney's sex life, wearing no panties, etc, alongside her drug abuse as if it's the same thing?

Here's the difference:

One, although can be viewed as tacky depending on each person's own views, is not going to eventually kill her.

The other, on the other hand, will.

Why, according to the press, is a female celeb showing her cooch to America the same thing as a female celeb killing herself with drugs and/or alcohol?

Why is a our press so fucking retarded anymore?
