Isn't that something. I didn't even know they had awards for that, but it's a great idea. I listen to books on tape quite a bit when I have a long trip, and the narrator really makes it. If they're lousy, it's hard to stay focused.

That's too bad. I love Feist but she's yet to come out with an album on the same level as her debut "Monarch". That's my opinion at least. The critics have loved 2nd and 3rd album. The 2nd disc had about 2 or three songs that appealed to me, same as her last. While I can listen to her debut from beginning to end. I've seen her perform three times twice with Broken Social Scene, and she played solo at a charity event I attended. Her shows are loud, fun, and magical. I danced like a madman, and loved every second.

Patrick Daughters is the genius behind Feist's last three videos. His visual compositions are slick and stylish making use of precisely choreographed dance and intricate camera movements (achieved with a remote controlled jib and gimbal set up). I can't wait to see Daughters take on a feature.

He managed to beat former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, who were also nominated.

It's not Obama's first Grammy--he won the same award in 2006 for his 1995 memoir Dreams from My Father.

A Grammy today and the presidential election November hopefully!

I haven't bought any of her CDs, just have a youtube playlist where I saved my favorites. I think she has a very unique voice and I really like her song writing as well. When I first discovered her, I drove everyone crazy. I need to buy that first CD - thanks for the tip.

Her videos really are unusual. I thought she deserved that best new artist award, much more that the Winehouse, but Winehouse doesn't appeal to me AT ALL.

Her production is better than her singing. She's actually kind of annoying. But her music is actually unique compared to everything else out there, sort of a neo '60's soul sound. I like her music, just not her singing. She sounds like a drunk 70 year old, which is cool if you're a drunk 70 year old. It's just not cool when you're 25.

Imagine her music with a more talented singer like Alicia Keys? Daayum.

That's what kills me about pop music today. Even when they have something beautiful (whoever produces Whinehouses music), they find a way to fuck it up.
