I'm working on it. It's been 20 years since I went to a concert. Some things have changed, some haven't. I have to work right now, I'll get to it this afternoon. but one disturbing thing; dead bros, a variant that sends shudders down my spine.

PS, excellent show!

Jomo...when did you see the show?

I saw it on Aug. 12.

I was impressed with the set....it started at 6:30 on the dot. 2 hours, no break.

Jam > Here Comes Sunshine > Easy Answers > She Belongs to Me, Mama Tried > Truckin, Jack-A-Roe@, Mexicali Blues@ > Brown-Eyed Women > He's Gone > Stuff > Black Peter, Two Djinn
E: GDTRFB*

Bobby looked/sounded great. I was 7th row, and caught a number of his "oopses", as did much of the first few rows. I forget when the first one came, but he calmly stepped back from the mike, put his finger in the air (as if the tell us..."wait...I've got it) and found the line quickly.

The "He's gone" was a bit drawn out, as the Dead used to do "Push comes to shove"...kind of like a funeral procession. Powerful song though, and it was more of a massive sing along.

After the drum/space thing, (Bobby had left the stage), he came back out and did a Black Peter. I couldn't believe it, when I caught the teaser notes a few minutes before they actually committed to the song.

A great set, and a lot of audience participation.

The Allman set was great too, but the problem is with the venue. Many wealthy folks live quite near, and when Phil and Friends played there til 1 a.m. a couple of years ago, all hell broke loose.

Now, they have an 11:00 curfew, which limited the Allmans to only 2 hours. I loved the set, but the general concensus was that there was too much jamming, and not enough singing....this, by members who attend the show because they've paid for the seats/memberships...rather than because they like the Allmans. What the hell do they know? I left feeling that we should have had a little more of a show. I've never been to an Allman Bros. show that was only 2 hours.

The following night at Jones beach, they played almost an hour longer, and Bobby came out for quite a few songs w/them.

Evidently, they didn't care much about the curfew at Jones Beach. It was, however, where the Allmans were playing when they got the word that Jerry had died. Perhaps they did it as a tribute.

My man Warren

How cool is it to grow up with Butch Trucks as your uncle?
