Ha! It was pretty obvious to even me that it was a vanity song and that he just wanted to sing about hockey.

Okay, that wasn't really her......And I retract all non-pro-Canada statements in that, and all past posts. It's a wonderful country, full of upstanding people and I enjoy maple syrup on all my food.

Just to finish off Friday, we saw a band called Orchestra Baobab. They're from Sengali, and the review (Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest - Welcome) I read of them made it sound sort of promising, or at least engaging.

The reality, at least for me (and my AC(IMQ)) was not as impressive. After the first song, which had the look and feel and sound of any faux-Caribbean combo in any hotel lounge in the world, we decided to pack it in.

Now as we're attending ALL the days of the festival, (with the exception of today's, Tuesday. We gave the tickets to IMQ's son. Boz Scaggs was the only name I know, and it's supposed to rain) you have to cut your humble Narr-eh(?)-tor a little slack. If we also sound as if we're getting a little jaded. you have to understand that as well....And that's mostly me anyway.

It's hot, really hot. And I'm aging, even as I write this. We're sporting a cooler and a couple of fold up chairs. So towards the end of the evening? If we're not blown away, we're out of there.

There's also the matter of transportation. There's no real parking, and there's lots of competition for seats on the bus for the 25,000 of us out there each night. So, in order to save an hour's time trying to squeeze onto a bus with 25,000 of our sweaty drunken friends, we've been hot footing it out, before the deluge each night.

(I have the same complaint when I saw Dave Mathews with my son. He was a huge fan until he saw him in concert.)

Also, I think I was the only person who actually brought a joint. It was obvious that every man around me had to listen to their wives complain the "HE HAS DRUGS!!" It was also obvious that every man around me wanted some.
that's just too funny. going to see Ratdog with my son in august.

That should be fun. I looked up the tour dates at RatDog Tour Dates | Bob Weir & RatDog Fan Site | RatDog.Org and they put the mileage between venues for the folks who want to follow them .

Don't laugh

One of those sites has a Fantasy Ratdog league, where you guess (for points) which songs will be played at a given show, and in what part of the sets..

Ratdog (Bobby Weir) is STILL awesome!
