Since he wrote his own material in his stand up when he was an up and coming comic, I am hoping he can still do a good monologue by writing his own material. We'll see about the new rules, I sure hope he does them.

Definitely, since he owes us George Carlin on the show.

This particular line-up is obviously Maher's answer to 'How to have a show with no writers'. This is a so win group of guests. Since his monologue and cutesy BS wears on me at times, the new format just might stick around post strike. I'm not saying to cut the humor, Maher is his best at punditing (attn Webster) when he's mostly being a comedian, but the sideshows have started to eat into the guest time and have hurt the overall messages of the shows IMHO. The show should help the slightly stagnating various Mahers boards. HBO RT boards got kinda scarey and majorly boring by becoming a haven for trolls and NeoCon apologists.

The whole time I was watching Tony Snow talk about Iraq, i was thinking about GW and Cheney starting a forest fire, and Tony here years later telling us how great it was that fewer trees are burning.
...I just cant seem to resist that analagy when it comes to Iraq. Ok, Tony. There are more power lines. OK, theres less violence in Baghdad. ....and yes, noone can tell how a war will go. (But your guys fed us all a huge line of shit in order to start this cluster, ...remember?)....and still defending the decision to go in, by propping up the obvious heroic kids in the military who have given their GUTS to this ill-advised, unilateral occupation of a foreign nation. Makes me fucking sick. ...I'm glad to see Tony is well, but apparently he's been dipped in koolaide and given a coating of laquer.
