SPLIT!!!!! Ann Coulter and Andrew Stein

Photo: Getty Images

Whenever a longtime celebrity couple breaks up, it causes us to call into question everything we believe about relationships. When Padma Lakshmi and Salman Rushdie broke up, we felt hurt, and confused. It was the same with Sean and Robin Wright Penn. And then today, we read that Norah Jones and her longtime boyfriend and collaborator, Lee Alexander, split up. If they can't work it out, we said to ourselves, then what hope is there for the rest of us? In this sort of climate, we wondered what celebrity couple would be next. Please God, we thought, please don't take Jon Bon Jovi and his high-school sweetheart, Dorothea. But it was even worse. Today, "Page Six" reported the demise of the couple of the century, Ann Coulter and Andrew Stein.

Ever since they were first caught swapping spit at Soho House, Coulter and Stein's relationship was one for the ages. As in all great love stories, the two came from different worlds: He was a former City Council president and Democrat, she was the author of, If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans. Coulter gave Stein complexity. Stein gave Coulter a soul. Their heady two-and-a-half-month courtship kept us all in thrall. Why couldn't they work it out? "We split because of irreconcilable differences," Stein told the Post. But really — shouldn't he have known that going in? Who doesn't have irreconcilable differences with Ann Coulter?

If you are a man, she would make you sit down to pee at her house.

Wouldn't you just love to see Ann Coulter's skull? Naked.
