I agree. AJ also needs to STFU when it comes to Israel.

Thats not true. Iran has repeatedly and explicitly stated that it does not want a war with Israel or with the United States. Most recently Ahmadinejad made this statement at Columbia University.

Iran has also added to its policy towards Israel that it will defend itself in the event of an Israeli attack.

Iran as the aggressor nation is simply not a true representation of the situation. Its Israel that is looking for a bar fight. Iran is playing it cool and walking away, while at the same time saying that they are not pacifists.

Iran has railed against Jews for decades.

Granted. But the current political and military leadership is not seeking a confrontation with the Jewish State, and thats what matters right now. Besides, Iran is the most moderate of the Muslim nations. They actually have an ancient Jewish population, not to mention a Jew in the Iranian parliament (there really arent enough Jews to constitutionally warrant a seat but the Iranian government gave them one anyway)

I think we're fucking up our relationship with Iran just fine on our own. If I recall, Bush is engaging in his own rants about attacking Iran. I find that to be "annoying" as well. In fact he just sent 20 billion dollars for arms aid to the Saudis just in case they need to protect themselves from Iran.
Actually you can bet the Saudis will sell the technology of those weapons to whomever's willing to pay. It's the biggest reason the Saudis shouldn't get shit from us.

Iran is just as bad as any of them, looking back at interviews with Saddam before the invasion they had the same "go ahead and try to attack us and we'll waste you" attitude. Two days later their country was reduced to rubble. Not saying what we did is right but trying to point out that their balls were much bigger than their strength and Iran is the same way, they will make threats all the way to their grave.

Except that Iran has repeatedly and explicitly stated that they do not want any confrontation with Israel, but more importantly they dont seek confrontation with the United States.

The US could walk over Iran in a week, but there is no reason to do so, and as a matter of fact, such a move would be counterproductive towards American interests. We need Iran to stabalize Iraq. We need Iran to make some headway on Middle East peace.

Simply stating that your country will defend itself in the event of an attack is not bellicose or belligerent rhetoric. Its standard defense policy. It seems that people expect Iran to just roll over without firing a shot if attacked, and when the Iranians say they wont just roll over, people try to make that into some kind of menacing threat.
