Well, while the Spartans never flew that flag they were some violent and opressive mother fuckers- or, well father fuckers I suppose...

Just sayin' gays are always passive and peaceful. Eventually one of them wants to put a foot up someone's ass rather than... well, let's just not plant any mental pictures there.

Jeffrey Dahmer and Alexander the Great were both gay....
How long has this flag been flying ? Give it time, unfortunately all groups have "history".

That was pretty fucked up. The Rainbow flag was introduced in 1978. I wouldn't even count Stonewall if it was after that time....because the cops were the aggresors and it was politicaly motivated. The blood was on their hands. Dude do you even know what we are talking about here or are you just trying to piss people off? |

I think you have a good point, M. although if pressed I would think Trace Atkins would say he meant flags of nations or other type political entities. And I think the mention of ancient Greece is relevant, in that it was a society where homosexuality was accepted, perhaps even encouraged in the case of Sparta. and they were warlike peoples, even for all their other contributions. Since the Rainbow flag emerged their certainly has been a lot of death and suffering under it. Not that there is a causal link.
and you can not attribute the actions of individuals of a group and have them be representative of the that group if they are minority within that group. Plainly stated, if you make Jeffrey Dahmer your representative for gays, then you can make him the representative of white guys of people over 6 foot tall. Of people living in Milwaukee, or Wisconsin. Or the United States.
