I have always been a Bill Clinton fan. Doesn't anyone listen to me?

Maybe they are confused because you posted this thread in the Bill Maher forum.

I agree that his fairytale remark was taken out of context, but that can't be blamed on republicans. And while this newest one may be pushed by the right, it was still an incredibly stupid thing to say. Especially linking it to global fuckin warming. This is politics, you have to choose your words carefully. For fuck's sake, this is the guy that had to make sure the proper defintion of "is" was being used. He made an incredibly stupid statement to pander to the liberal left and he deserves to be mocked for his horrific timing. This is Bill Clinton, he should have known better.
Frank: I agree with you that Bill's statement was incredibly inept for a skilled political speaker. Leaving yourself open for an edited soundbyte or to be taken out of context doesn't jive with Bill's track record. We're not talking about some virgin here. This guy doesn't make mistakes like that. This is, afterall, the Clinton campaign machine.

I'm wondering if this isn't an example of Bill, either consciously or subconsciously, attempting to derail Hillary's campaign?

Maybe it's not. Maybe everytime I look at Bill lately, out on the ol' campaign trail, making remarks like these that are open for attack, maybe I shouldn't be reminded of a drunken sailor in a whore house.

Why would he want to derail Hillary? I don't know. Maybe he's tired of answering those annoying questions at every $100,000 speach he makes. Maybe he doesn't want to be the Ambassador to the United Nations. Maybe he doesn't even realize he's doing it.

Maybe he wants his balls back and he's not interested in being the nation's first "First Gentleman".
