Randi pops Bill

Has anyone noticed how Bill Mahers show has been a little lackluster since the writers strike? No wonder he was so pissed at the stealth picketers who disrupted his show, as if disruptions were enough by themselves.

Show before last he totally ripped of the list of Reagan foibles from a Michael Kinsley article that had appeared in the LATimes. I posted that aricle on this board:

http://www.politicalgroove.com/gener...al-reagan.html

Here is an excerpt from maher's transcripts for comparison purposes:

MAHER: Yeah, and, by the way, they were all the Reagan Library, invoking Reagan, and saying, you know, “Would Reagan have done this?” Well, Reagan raised taxes. Reagan passed an amnesty bill for immigrants.

ISSA: 1986.

MAHER: Right. Reagan did everything – Reagan cut and run when the Marines were in Lebanon in the Middle East. Reagan did everything—

I suppose that is fair game though because it is nothing more than a list of historical facts, though not of the kind you'd see Mud of L2R acknowledging. Still I suspect that Maher had read the Kinsley article.

Today, I was listening to Randi Rhodes. She said that her family called her a few days after a show and kased if she had heard Bill Maher lately. She indicated that she had not. They told her she was going to be pissed because he'd purloined her best points and jokes. She then listened and realized that he had.

I have not examined the assertions point for point so I cannot vouch for myself but it seems that maybe our friend Bill be being a little bit smarmy.

If it is true then Bill graduated from petty larceny of well researched lists of historical fact to major league, felonious plaigarism.

In a fair fight, no notes or preparation, Randi would kick his lil' butt.
