GOD! Couldn't log onto HBO's Real page to tell Bill he doesn't know his head from his veggiac ass on why meat itself isn't the cause of starvation.

The real problem is how the livestock is raised, not that it's being raised at all. That's a fact. Eating meat has been with us for seven million years [as far back as anthropologists and paleontologists can find] and raised animals for food for eleven thousand years.

You veggiacs [who'll remain unnamed] can't deny this and every attempt you've made thus far has been a dismal failure and will continue to be so.

Get over it.

You're very unscientific on this subject. It's obvious you're biased. All we need from meat is protein, is this incorrect? Maybe we ate meat for 7 million years, but we also ate other stuff. Before 7 million years, we ate other stuff.

We are fully capable of surviving without eating meat. Why keep consuming it when the only remaining function is pleasure?

What valid arguments can you provide in favor of eating animals? Don't give me silly biased answers, i'm no 'veggiac'. Been almost a pure carnivore my whole life and I only eat 2 types of vegetables and 0 fruits. Pro-meat people don't have any arguments. They only want to eat it 'cause it's fucking delicious.

I'm extremely scientific on the subject. Every ancient society ate meat, fish or some other animal for protein. In some cases it was as low as five to ten percent and others as high as 90 to virtually 100 percent.

Burning the village doesn't save it. It's possible to economically raise livestock without diverting arible land to feed them. The reason I know this is because that was the normal practice up until a couple hundred years ago. Even pigs were never fed crops humans could eat unless those crops had gone bad.

Not just protein, but specific amino acids that either exist in miniscule quantities in plant foods or don't exist in them at all.

True. But there have been whole societies which ate nothing but meat. I'm not recommending that for industrial societies, because we don't have the physical activity level to justify anything above 25% meat, however the biological science doesn't lie.

Not for the majority of our lives. You can go without it for a few years without appreciable health effects, but beyond a decade and you'll notice. Also, if you're forced to be vegetarian while growing up you will be malnurished and may have some developmental problems including mental development if it's severe enough.

It isn't the only function and I've already proven that too many times to waste anymore re-explaining it.

I've done this already. Were the old Bill Maher boards up you could look up thread after thread where I thoroughly debunked EVERY myth about vegetarianism from one end of the forums to the other. And other posters who likewise bothered to know the many related sciences jumped in as well.

Not once have the veggiacs managed to prove otherwise, and most often had to duck the many facts I posted or linked because they knew there were wrong.

Anyone know if he actually apologized for the pope comments? If he did, I'm no longer a fan of his fake ass, or HBO.

He said he wouldn't pick on him for being a Nazi anymore. That Pope Nazi I was only 14 when he was a Hitler Youth. So he's cutting him slack on that. He ain't cutting any slack for the church virtually condoning molesting little kids and hiding it.

I haven't watched it yet. I'm about to catch the west coast 1am HBO2 airing.

It would just suck to see Bill succumb to these fascist assholes.

After watching, Bill handled it perfectly.

These Catholic church assholes said they would be watching the program for Bill's sincerity, and there was none! LOL. His apology was sarcastic all the way through, then he reiterated his point about the church's covering up of child abuse. Then he took another crack at the Pope's see through garb, in "new rules".

Way to go, Bill. Fuck 'em.

He clarified his comments.

And during those 7 million years, there was not 6 billion people on the planet.

You cant really compare ancient tribes who raised cattle to a modern cattle operation which slaughters 100K cattle per day.

Human biology isn't going to change next century and scant little over the next few millennia. The population issue is workable by way of improving living standards so that people, on their own, feel less compelled to have kids. That's been the only proven way to reduce population over the long term without the use of tyranny.

That was precisely the point, genius. We figure out what it is they did right [which won't take long] and work backwards from that.
