Mull over the possibility Bill Maher's lost touch with his fanbas and sense growing wonder over his denial over the reality of certain issues.

He's had an ax to grind against Muslims [even the moderate majority] and their religion as a whole, but he bashes every religion in a humorous way. I figure it's good so long as he's an equal opportunity offender. Yet, we shouldn't forget that he is more angry over 09/11 than most people, so that it and his subsiquent firing from ABC combined to turn a part of him sour.

Now the 10% oxygen in the atmosphere was weird, but then again Maher's not much on science [or science fiction, but that's wholly separate] so I let it slide.

He gets hung up on the idea that cell phone towers kill bees, never mind that it's clear modern beekeeping practices in conjunction with mites and viruses are the problem. But oh well, so long as no one in a position to run on his assumption is in a position to act on it.

Even his clinging to myths about vegetarianism don't bother me, since that's his first and worst collection of beliefs that don't bare out nor will it in the future. He doesn't answer tough questions on what to do with the animals we no longer eat or why wild herbivores are somehow not also producting methane in their dung. No, he'll stick to his PETA cult and their quiet support of arsonists/vandalists.

But that he thinks it's okay for Hillary's smear campaign to continue to the bitter end and possibly hand the white house to McCain? That he keeps to the notion that the candidate offering hope or change must be doomed to failure? I think the 09/aa crapspiracists have done their wor too well. Bill Maher retreats from his fans and no longer has a good view of the world or the people in it.

So, I'll wait out the four months and see if he'll get his political groove [yes, shameless plug ] back. If not I'll reduce what I consider to be the holy trinity of excellent political satire down to two [or two and a half with the scarcity of Lewis Black].

Possibly go out on Friday nights with hub. We almost went out this week, but decided to stay in at the last minute due to the damn wind and chilly temperature.

I can't imagine, however, watching repeats of Bill's show during his hiatus. Once was enough, if you know what I mean. Also, I hope his movie flunks at the box office this summer. I am so sick and tired of his stupid, inane bashing of religion...he needs to get a new act. Quickly.
