In the Spirit of Student Body Elections
The thing is...forget I.D....I'm not so sure I even needed my sample ballot to get a real ballot. Another person...we'll call him an Alleged Voter...had neither sample ballot nor I.D. He asked whether they could check his address to locate his correct polling place and...come to think of it...since he was already there, mightn't he just vote at he location in which he stood. AS ANY REASONABLE PERSON WOULD THINK THE CITIZENRY OF A 'WORLD CLASS' DEMOCRACY COULD DO.
Class of what? As a nation, it is incumbent upon us to take a good, hard look at that. OldManWavingSparklers would have the People look in the mirror and assume all blame. Fuck that.
We ARE lazy, and we ARE greedy, and we ARE embarrassingly willing to sacrifice principles if A.) the price is right and/or B.) we are unscathed. Some of the blame, no doubt, falls to the People.
But we didn't one day, or over the course of a few decades, look each other in the eye and resolve that there were fantastic sums of money to be made if only we would suspend law and the rules of fair play. We've got some BAD apples spoiling this bunch. They need to be plucked out, if we would spare the others.
I digress.
Nope, the address you just gave me ISN'T in this book. The address you gave me is in THAT book, a few blocks away.
At the very least, every sample ballot that is discarded and every sample ballot that is returned as undeliverable may be cast by someone other than the voter to whom it was addressed. It seems preposterous to think that dark-hearted Politicos would encourage one another to never let down their vigilance for the opportunity to salvage a discarded vote...recycling with a Capital R, as it were. It seems equally preposterous to put it past them.
For real, the manner by which we elect public officials, likewise the way they comport themselves once they become "official" is the political equivalent of the Naked Gun series.
I write about how I am not a racist for saying racism is an issue when racism is everywhere apparent, and this search-driven ad popped onto the page containing my post:

I write about racism and, poof, a convenient shop-from-home way to add to the old arsenal. Who knew?
Who knows? THEY know, for fuck's sake. Every piece of information, every cross-sectional analysis, every focus group, every loose arrangement, anything and everything that might better pin-point the marketing of stuff no one needs has been gathered, organized and analyzed. They don't have a handle on who votes and who doesn't? (Insert groaner lexicon here) Gimme a break.
Are we serious? Our voting systematic-non-system veritably SCREAMS voter fraud.
If we have learned nothing else, we have learned these two things. When there exist ways to bend, tweak, pervert, massage or manipulate a system to personal advantage, there will be persons who will do exactly that. And, when it comes to getting and staying elected, Crappy Behavior R Us.
