About a year ago I thought America’s presidential election would be the year of Alien vs. Predator: no matter who won, we’d lose. Given the Democratic frontrunner apparent at that time, I "knew" McCain would not only win the Republican primary, but the general election in a landslide. In my mind I drafted the letter I’d send to English papers around the world, warning of the United States becoming a rogue nation.
