Scared Stupid.
As we begin another year, one which carries such vast implications for the future of our country, and ultimately the world, the unknowns are overwhelming.
What kind of end-of-term frat party will we see from the kids who realize that they only have the wheel for another precious few months? Lets hope the fireworks and sirens are at a minimum.
And what ..here it comes .."change", will we really see when the reigns are handed over? As Bill Maher noted on his last show, it truly is astounding, that the majority of the American people want our military out of Iraq, and yet we're facing the very real possibility of having 2 candidates who are (or at least were,)pro-Iraq war.
And, perhaps it's no coincidence that those very candidates are hanging their political hats on scaring the shit out of the American people. Constantly reminding us, in one form or another, that there are snakes in the grass who want to kill us, but never telling us that the worst thing you can do when confronted with a snake , is panic.
Never a plan to prevent more snakes, just a reminder that the snakes are there. .
"..Oh, and I'm the ONLY one, who has this handy snake killing wand. (Poof) ...Vote for me."
Me, I have no love of snakes. But I wont become terrified to the point of dancing around all rationality and logic, to the point of pissing off ALL the snakes.
Please, give us someone , whoever it may be, to tell us the truth, without the campfire "boogly googly".

More animal analogies for the election. Excellent!
What's worse is no one thinks that maybe there's a positive role for snakes in the grass- say... keeping the rats in check. |

..And based upon YOUR analagy, I believe I want my candidate to be a rabbit. ...faster, and smarter than the snake. But can be left alone with the chickens. |

The rabbit is also a trickster god to some American Indian traditions. I think it's the basis for the Bugs Bunny character. The Mayan myth of Rabbit acts just like Bugs.
"And why is the rabbit smiling today?" "Because he's smarter than the panther." -Anthony Hopkins, The Edge |

You know their platform is awful if they have to resort to fear tactics.
Here's a pitch... make a documentary where a person uses fear tactics at normal job interviews. Imagine applying for the counter at mcdonalds, "If you don't hire me, your family will die.". |
