We have written a new page on the American ledger. Does it rectify all the past injustices? No. But it does give us a fresh start. And who doesn’t like one of those? Of course, that fresh start doesn’t mean we forget the lessons of the past. And high expectations, sometimes unreasonable ones, are held for the President-elect.

This was not just a demand for change. It was a repudiation of the past thirty years of Republican control of the policies of the United States of America....
