This recent attorney seems to be proving to be another winner. The original firm evidentially still has some of my money. When my girlfriend talked to them she asked if they had talked to this attorney, they said that they had not. They assume that he has been in court but have not been able to contact him. They had asked us to confirm whether we had received any correspondence from him. Maybe he sent it and it got lost in the mail, attorneys seem to have that problem.

Ironically I have had more positive experiences with the police than with attorneys. As a Marine I had a lot of friends that intended to become police officers when they got out, they had come from families of police. Having said that I now go to experiences where I was the focus of some of this population, had need of their services. It appears that the market for the services rendered by the legal community has no functional oversight. In 2000 when my girlfriends attorney deserted I noticed that the Virginia State Bar had changed their policies from the Nine Canons. I thought to myself this was desertion, surely the institution would be proactive and avoid any appearance of impropriety so I disregarded this new initiative.
