Attorney Grumble....

Posted 03-03-2008 at 04:34 PM by jowey
This recent attorney seems to be proving to be another winner. The original firm evidentially still has some of my money. When my girlfriend talked to them she asked if they had talked to this attorney, they said that they had not. They assume that he has been in court but have not been able to contact him. They had asked us to confirm whether we had received any correspondence from him. Maybe he sent it and it got lost in the mail, attorneys seem to have that problem.

Of course...

Disposable people - The Virginia Authorites

Posted 03-01-2008 at 07:58 PM by jowey
Ironically I have had more positive experiences with the police than with attorneys. As a Marine I had a lot of friends that intended to become police officers when they got out, they had come from families of police. Having said that I now go to experiences where I was the focus of some of this population, had need of their services. I bring this up because I have been told that I would want their help to address a "situation". The reality is that I have been in need of their help...

Disposable people - The Communications Solution

Posted 03-01-2008 at 07:24 PM by jowey
I am not the brightest candle so I decided to bring these issues up to a legal forum, Lawyers.com and I tried again, surely they would have a "functional" response to my issues. I found it funny that I was told that I needed to see a "mental health professional" this is because after the crusade and then the deserter we had continued to see the psychiatrist recommended by our fourth attorney. What I came away with from the discussions with that psychiatrist was that because...

Disposable people - The Virginia State Bar's change of policy

Posted 03-01-2008 at 07:12 PM by jowey
In 2000 when my girlfriends attorney deserted I noticed that the Virginia State Bar had changed their policies from the Nine Canons. I thought to myself this was desertion, surely the institution would be proactive and avoid any appearance of impropriety so I disregarded this new initiative. The diligent response from the Virginia State Bar would be to assign counsel to probono clients who could not afford to pay another attorney or clients whose cases were damaged as a result of their members...
