A Secret Sweetheart Deal for you, then...undisclosed boucoup bucks including a Platinum Parachute.

Where shall you be, roughly, on the Fiscally-Conservative-But-Socially-Not-Weird to NeoNazi spectrum?

You will naturally want the Republicans to hold the White House, yes? Which Republican?

In real life, you buy the house a round of drinks because you enjoy the company of your fellows and it is your pleasure to boost the general conviviality...as a hearty "Bartender, a round for the house" unfailingly does.

You mean well...not only enjoying the moment, but enjoying everyone else's enjoyment of it...yet possibly you lack awareness of the true relationship between the size of your wallet and the size of the house. More likely, once the house is drinking rounds, everyone loses awareness of all kinds of stuff and all manner of revised circumstances come to pass before the night is through.

As a Modern Conservative, you can play this one of two ways. You can either take from the very people you profess to help, the money that you use to help them. Or, you put a pipeline between the public trough and the moneyed interests that get you elected and re-elected, and that otherwise underwrite your hifalutin life style, continually replenishing the trough with money from people you never helped but also never professed to service.

Get it?

While the unwashed masses are...well, dirty, they are more compliant and grateful than former members of the middle class who tend, almost without exception, to have an Attitude.

So...for whom do I speak? The unwashed masses...or all the dock workers and road workers and sanitation workers and maintenance workers and store clerks and luggage manufacturers and waiters and gardeners and teachers and firemen and policemen and nurses and everyone else you'll be leaving behind right along with the unwashed masses?

Funny in a not-funny way that you should elect for the alternative spelling of get-go. Gitgo...like Gitmo, but with a 'g' like God instead of an 'm' like Money.

But we aren't at the get-go. Just like a Fake Conservative to belie his label by rushing headlong into confrontation. I draw attention to your haste...note the fast in Fast One...and suggest that 'relaxed' is open to some interpretation.

Tell the muscled wetback peasants who stand ready to heave coal into your mighty engines, and their exotically alluring women who ready to shoo flies from your rich soups, to stand at their ease...down in steerage, where the deviant and gluttonous among you can sneak during the night for physical and pharmaceutical pleasure from around the globe. The ship will have to wait awhile in port...pretend it's a terrorist alert.

If I understand correctly, we pigeon-holed you as one of the new Relaxed Republicans who never quite nail the jeans thing...a hail-fellow-well-met, which you can afford to do because

A. you have money, and
B. you spend other people's money, and
C. you replace that by taking more money that isn't yours

A phony. Remember in Breakfast at Tiffany's? The mercenary agent...A.J.=Fred Baby, I think. "Yeah, but is she a REAL phony, that's what I wanna know."

You're a Real Phony, am I right? A Great Obfuscating Republican, G.O.P.

That will serve our fiction better than NeoNazi=HardRight anyway. I'll have a field day with HR, for starters...His Royal This and His Royal That, to say nothing of Herr Republican.

More importantly, Hard Right is Fringe. Countrywide, the majority of the People, Average Americans should not give a shit about the fringe...except as they may break the law in the extremity of their positions, QUICKLY qualified by declaring that there are some laws that a just society is entitled and obliged to erase right off the books.

We need to quit playing to the Fringe. They are loudest and creepiest, and loud and creepy=scary...AS WE ARE SEEING. But seriously, we as a country do not want what they're having. Even so, it bears reminding that Fringe also has rights to be and do as they please.

But we are far from there, debate-wise.

In the same way that it will not be instructive or constructive for you to pose as HardRight, you cannot mean for me to be some pie-in-the-sky moonbeam wingnut tax'n'spend Democrat who is afraid of their own shadow. That would be uninteresting and wasteful, no? You seem already to have them well in hand.

Shall I be a an AWOL Republican with a Progressive Agenda, or a die-hard Democrat with sound economic sense and fierce anti-establishmentarianism?

CNN's Planet in Peril is "brought to you by BMW, the Ultimate Driving Machine"...and DOW Chemical.

Barack Hussein Obama has now, twice that I've heard, included rich versus poor in his dismissal of divisions, in his assurance that there are no dichotomies that define more than one America.

The point is that mooring after mooring is being cast off the opulent ship of state that wayside described, and y'all are on the shore.
