Yes, this is one that I forgot about. Thanks for bringing it up. I agree that this belongs on the list of laws the violate the individual rights of gay people. Oh, and I never denied that the sodomy laws are not still used in some places to deliberately go after gays. And I called the gay marriage thing ridiculous because it shouldn't even be an issue up for debate. I find it ridiculous that the congress is even considering such an issue and that so many people actually are bothered by other people's marriages.

I didn't bring up the Gay marriage issue or post anything on that....because it is an issue nearly every American is aware of. So you are rightthat that can be skipped in the discussion.

As for the Sodomy laws most have been repealed.

That makes sense. Thanks Zimmy.

To extrapolate blindly on the military tangent...
Could it be possible that those in charge of the military discriminate against gays because they don't want to have to deal with all the shit that could result from extreme hazing or abuse on the part of stupid fucking meat-heads?

Well they are kind of hard to enforce in the first place. Most people engaging in such behavior are private about it enough so that the authorities, let alone much of anyone else, wouldn't find out anyways.

There have already been plenty of research into how to incorporate gays into the military and there are major hazing policies in place as well as sexual harrassment policies that have been looked into and briefs written and placed on the Secretary of Defense's desk (or podium...at the time it was Rumsfeld) that deal with all of this. Our Military is the greatest in the world and yet they can't figure out something as simple as this. Please. They know exactly what needs to be done. They just don't have to do it!

From a horses mouth:

The Navy 'likes' gay.

If a guy and girl get together, they tend to try to

go off by themselves and

get an us-against-them mentality -

but the Navy doesn't care if somebody wants to run

around and suck everybody's dick.

(typed while commiting sodomy )

Dawn....that added nothing to this discussion. It was also a little insulting.

Please! No offense is intended.

This is exactly what the guy said to me.

He was speaking from an at-war point of view.

he is really really like that - a slicer in conversation.

I, truly and sincerely, apologize!

It was only a little insulting and only because it seems out of context. (Like I haven't insulted anyone here) So of course I accept your apology...but feel a little bad that you felt inclined to offer it because of my reaction.

Could you talk more about what your friend meant. I didn't really understand it.
