American foreign policy is moronic. We've done greatly evil things for corporate profits. You know, just like every other country. Our nation at least has the ability to do the right things thru our democracy. That we've allowed the Republic aspects of our style of democracy to unsurp the Citizen's wishes is a crime of the American people.

However....
We saved the world from Nazis. We stymied Pax Soviet Union. We were the ingition that fired the end of Monarchies in Europe. We've kept the worse elements of world leaders in check. We've saved more lives and improved more lives than we've harmed.

We just need to do something we've never really done in our country's history: Abide by the ideals, much less the words, in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

Chechen, 61, will begin his journey back to Iraq this morning.He will stay for a month, documenting civilians' lives and visiting family and friends. He wants to see first hand the condition of his homeland.

He last visited in 2003. Since then, seven of his family members have died. Some succumbed to illnesses; others felled by gun fire and street bombs. This time he feels he's returning as an American.

His 83-year-old mother, Nadira Ahmad, died of a stroke last month. Chechen says she was denied hospital care and died at her home a few days later.

Why is it that if you criticize the government you are accused of hating the country? I thought it was a country by the people of the people for the people. By that standard if you discipline or criticize your kids do you hate them?? Trying to better your country is quite the opposite of hating it. To sit back idly while politicians like W are disgracing it's name sense of liberty and justice is much more hateful. Why do conservatives hate America????
