It was requested of me to start a thread on what has America done for the world. Since America has done so much for the rest of the world this will be fairly easy. Feel free to jump in and add to what I forget.

I am proud that I live in the most generous country in the world. America is always one of the first to arrive after any natural disaster. We come with medical supplies, food and money to help any and all nations of the world.

This country has assisted undeveloped countries of the world with education in everything from AIDS to growing crops in an efficient manner. We drill wells for the people needing water and build dams for the people with flooding problems.

America is willing to trade with any nation that wishes to get along with other nations of the world. In many cases we are too generous in my opinion giving an unfair trade balance to many of these other nations.

In the past we have on numberous occassions defended the weak and stood by our nations allies. There have been many occassions in the past where politics has interferred with this attribute.

Too bad your generousity doesn't extend to your own fellow citizens.


We have exploited indigenous peoples and cultures to serve our needs. Much overseas aid comes from private donations.



Again, we allow our corporations to exploit us, the foreign nations and our government for their private use and profit, to the exclusion of millions of citizens of the world.


We have overthrown duly elected governments, assassinated foreign leaders, invaded countries for corporate profit. Propped up foreign dictators to serve our economic or military wants. Committed genocide. Performed immoral medical and scientific experiments on unwitting participants. And this is just a cursory list.

You realize upwards of 90% of U.S. territory [states and provinces] were taken by conquest. Hawaii was acquired by way of fraud. Several nations were invaded and peoples pushed to [and some past] the point of anihilation. Those who dared survive then saw their cultures, languages and religions face the same anihilation.

All the way up to and through the 20th century.

Oh yeah, and we justified slavery, murder of immigrants working the railroads, the ghettoization of our own citizens for being the wrong color or culture, the disenfranchisement of people demanding equal rights, etc. etc.

You say ask any Iraqi. I think that many have been asked. Some are appreciative of us being there and some blame us for everything just like many of the liberals in this country.

Stupid liberal Iraquis, blaming us for everything. If it weren't for us, they wouldn't even HAVE a warm pile of rubble to go home to every night, after a hard day of watching American contractors rebuild the places they used to work in.
