Rethugs contiunue to bash French

Heard Mc Same on Chris Matthew's College tour, yesterday, say that if you live long enough you'll live to see a pro-American president, which got a of laughter and applause from the young crowd at Villanova University.

This is roundly FALSE since President Chirac was a right leaning president and simply did not agree with American Iraqi policy. He was never anti-American.

***Under Chirac's leadership, France has the most troops in Afghanistan after the US.

Ignorance must be truly be bliss for the conservatives.
Shame on McCain for pushing such ignorance and not honoring French troops and commitment in Afghanistan.

I'll paste the transcript once it is posted.

I'm way not getting onto the bashing da French wagon, but like all things there's more to both sides of the story. This is why both sides can argue with legit talking points.

The big picture is that you're right on the money.

However, France has historically been anti-Everything but France.

The only thing that halted French expansionism is lack of ability.

Chirac was WAY in bed with Iraq. It goes back with his dealings with them over the past 20-30 years.

So while I agree with France's stated position, I realize the actuality driving some of that position is bogus. Kinda like our leadership.

You couldn't possibly be saying that France's actual position is based upon the economic self-interest of it's own county, could you?

<--- French Champagne.

The US had quite a cosy relationship with Iraq and SH, too.

Remember there is footage of Rumsfeld warmly greeting SH from his previous administration experience.

That's how this admin could claim that Iraq had WMD, we had the receipts for the equipment!

The real question was, tho, had Iraq upkept and used this equipment for the purpose of WMD?

4K US dead, Billions spent, thousands of casualties, and 5mil displaced: We now know the answer is a resolute NO.

We must maintain the enabler's loop.
We saved Ho Chi Minh's life in WWII, empowered and armed red Chinese fighters in WWII, Gave Iran our printing press tech and plates turning them into the world's #1 counterfeiter of U.S. currency so now we have expensive money, funded and armed OBl during Gulf I, and are responsible for the current Iranian government. We armed SH to kill Iranians as well as a straight up arms deal.
We never enabled them with WMD technology, tho, let's be fair. That's what France and Russia wanted to do.

Wow, what a concept for a country, eh?

It's the expousing a 'global view' whilst engaging in said self-interest that makes them even more hypocritical than Bush.

I don't have the time to fully respond to this since i have ups deadline to make.

Let's stick with Iraq, Afghanistan, the US, and France, please.

Yes, the US enabled Iraq b/c we were allied with them during the Iraq/Iran war and provided them with much miltary material. The US press loves to overlook this while slamming the French for what we have done as well.

Then we're in agreement. It's something all governments can share culpability in. That's my point in showing our own history of these kinds of practices. Historically, we could involve everyone.
