Democrat Superdelegates set to Undermine the Will of the Voters

17,821,967 Democrat primary voters selected Hillary Clinton. 17,535,335 voted for Barack Obama.

In spite of this, we are told that Obama has the nomination clinched. This is partly because of a convoluted rules system that gave Obama more delegates from the states. It is partly because the Michigan-Florida "compromise" gave him delegates where he earned no votes.

But it is mainly because he enjoys a strong majority of support from unelected "superdelegates," party bosses who have decided to subvert the will of the people by voting against their party's primary constituency.

I hope Hillary Clinton fights this at the convention. The Democrat party should have some respect for democracy.

Yep. Can't say you Clinton lovers aren't loyal!

It would be a dark day for American politics, if the repubs have to quit fighting against her after 4 years

I'd think you'd be happy that 'communism was defeated'

Obama won by the rules that have been in place since 1972. His name wasn't even on the ballot in MI, he and Dollar Bill Hill both agreed not to count votes in FL and MI since those states violated the DNC rules by having their primaries too early. It was Clinton's insistence that her MI votes count that brought about the compromise. And really Mudpie, where was this outrage on your part back in 2000 when Florida votes weren't counted, the "activist" US Supreme Court handed the presidency to GW Fucktard by overruling the Fl SJC's decision to have the recount go on? You are every bit as disingenuous as you are stupid.

Actually the numbers are:
17,773,503 for Obama
17,821,967 for Clinton

But if we count ALL the votes:

18,107,587 for Obama
18,045,829 for Clinton

IA, NV, ME, and WA did vote and we can estimated the popular vote totals for Senator Obama and Clinton in these four states based on Caucus results.

Obama +61,758

Democracy has spoken.

Mark, are you reading any of this? Thanks Curator, I was waiting for somebody to give the TRUE popular vote which includes the caucuses that Hillary wants thrown out.

Estimated?

Clinton won the popular vote. What could possibly be more Democratic than nominating the candidate that got the most votes.

The funny thing is that the Cult of Obama was on here months ago making post after post complaining about how your party rules allow superdelegates to make the decision if the primary is close. When you thought that they would give it to Clinton in spite of Obama winning, you were all up in arms saying that they shouldn't have superdelegates. Now that they disproportionately favor Obama in spite of Hillary's victory, and are giving him the nomination against the will of the voters, everyone is OK with it.

It goes to show once again how Democrats don't have any principle. In your mind, the rules should be whatever allows your candidate to win.

We knew the Clintons were moral relativists but it appears that Obama and his supporters may be even moreso.
