McCain adviser apologizes for September 11 comment
McCain adviser apologizes for September 11 comment
FRESNO, California (Reuters) - A top adviser to Republican presidential candidate John McCain apologized on Monday after he was quoted as saying a September 11-type attack before the November election would benefit McCain. "I deeply regret the comments, they were inappropriate," Charlie Black said in a statement after McCain said that if Black had made such a comment, "I strenuously disagree" with it. "I recognize that John McCain has devoted his entire adult life to protecting his country and placing its security before every other consideration," said Black, one of McCain's most trusted political advisers. Fortune magazine said Black, in discussing how national security was McCain's strong suit, had said when asked about another terrorist attack on U.S. soil that "certainly it would be a big advantage to him." A McCain campaign official said Black did not remember making the particular comment but did not dispute the characterization. The official said Black was speaking in the context that any day on the campaign trail that the theme was national security, was a good day for McCain. McCain, asked about the magazine article at the news conference, did not sound familiar with it. "I cannot imagine why he would say it. It's not true," McCain said, adding he had worked hard since the September 11 attack to prevent another such attack. (Reporting by Steve Holland and Deborah Charles; Editing by Peter Cooney) |

A wise man once said, "The prime requirement to work in the corporate media is the ability to stand there with your hair on fire and insist you cannot smell any smoke."

WTC Part 1 was a month after Clinton took over. WTC Part 2 was in Bush's first year. The trend has the big false flag terror stunts taking place in the first year of the new president's term to set the agenda.
Anyway, the big foreign policy role of the next president will be to secure African resources. Obviously, Obama is the man for that.

Corporate Media Loathe To Explain Real Outrage Behind Terror Comments
Press fails to point out track record of Neo-Cons contracting for attacks Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet Tuesday, June 24, 2008 The media circus surrounding McCain advisor Charlie Black's statement that another terror attack would be a "big advantage" in the election contest has completely failed to explain why such comments are so disturbing. After all, Black's statement is essentially true - if there was to be another 9/11-style event in America before November it would virtually guarantee a McCain presidency. This is not what is so outrageous about Black's comments. The real story that the corporate media is loathe to divulge is that Black and many other Neo-Cons, including former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, are in effect not just yearning for, but openly calling for more terror - a point which is especially prescient when one accepts that 9/11 was a self-inflicted wound. Neo-Cons are not just hoping that terror will arrive gift-wrapped at the most politically expedient time, in their desperation they are are actively signaling for those that carried out 9/11 to launch another attack. The response to Black's comments has been tenfold when compared with the non-existent mainstream media coverage of excerpts of confidential recordings released under the Freedom of Information Act which feature Donald Rumsfeld talking with top military analysts about needing the "correction" of a terror attack to get sympathy for the Neo-Con agenda on Capitol Hill. The silence was also deafening on the back of a 2005 Republican memo which touted a new terror attack as a means of helping George W. Bush to reclaim popular approval and "restore his image as a leader of the American people." By failing to provide the track record of identical rhetoric emanating from within the administration itself, the media is making out that Black's comments are a one-off spectacle. In reality, as we have exhaustively documented, there are numerous examples to document the trend. The latest example was former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, who during a Long Island bookstore appearance stated, "The more successful they've been at intercepting and stopping bad guys, the less proof there is that we're in danger. And therefore, the better they've done at making sure there isn't an attack, the easier it is to say, 'Well, there never was going to be an attack anyway.' And it's almost like they should every once in a while have allowed an attack to get through just to remind us." In a Washington Times report last month, national intelligence spooks all but promised that history would be repeated for a third time running, and the new President of the United States will be welcomed into office by a terror attack that will occur within the first year of his tenure. In August last year Philadelphia Daily News columnist Stu Bykofsky openly called for "another 9/11" that "would help America" restore a "community of outrage and national resolve". Lt.-Col. Doug Delaney, chair of the war studies program at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario, told the Toronto Star last July that "The key to bolstering Western resolve is another terrorist attack like 9/11 or the London transit bombings of two years ago." Also in July 2007, former Republican Senator Rick Santorum suggested that a series of "unfortunate events," namely terrorist attacks, will occur within the next year and change American citizen's perception of the war. And the month before that, the new chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party Dennis Milligan said that there needed to be more attacks on American soil for President Bush to regain popular approval. In myopically focusing solely on Black's comments, the corporate media has obfuscated the shocking truth behind a burgeoning trend of Neo-Cons, in their final death throws of relevancy, essentially putting out a contract for terror as a means of prolonging their power monopoly in America. |
