On the Driven Roads

Two things I've noticed:

A lot of people have seemingly paid to get the number 666 onto their license plates. Haven't spotted if any of these same people also have those fish ornaments. But I suspect these may be Avatars of the Apocalypse (I'm not losing any sleep over this so no need to send in the men with the butterfly nets). Just saying.

And then there are the people who drive around with no sign of a license plate at all. I have been known to have been stopped (and fined!) for not having my tweensy sticker on my rear plate (had it but had forgotten to put it on) meanwhile there are others who drive around with no plates at all (and maybe no insurance?) ... what is the meaning of this?
