Noam Chomsky joins 9/11 "Jersey" widows in calling for release of 9/11 documents
by Joseph Murtagh - The Muckraker Report (Posted by Bill Douglas)
OpEdNews.Com Progressive, Tough Liberal News and Opinion Home Page Tell A Friend February 14, 2007 -- Noam Chomsky has signed a petition written by the 9/11 “Jersey” widows calling for the release of classified documents relating to the 9/11 attacks. The Muckraker Report has contacted him by e-mail and verified that the individual listed on the petition is indeed Noam Chomsky. Chomsky’s name is #6432: That said, now that Chomsky has agreed to sign the widows’ petition, the Muckraker Report would like to see the following people sign too: Alexander Cockburn and crew at Counterpunch, the editorial staff at the Nation, Michael Moore, Barbara Ehrenreich, Amy Goodman, Maureen Dowd, Frank Rich, Seymour Hersh, Nicholas Leman at the New Yorker, Christopher Hayes, anyone who writes for the Daily Kos, including Kos himself, and the absolutely divine Camille Paglia. Like I said in my article from a few days ago, 9/11 Widows Keep on Asking the Tough Questions, the Jersey widows say that once they have 15,000 signatures on their petition, they’re going to head back to Capitol Hill. Right now they have 6,600 signatures, 1023 of them in the last 60 hours. Please e-mail the link of the petition to all your friends. Ask them to sign and forward the petition to their e-mail contacts. The Jersey widows have to get 8,400 more signatures. They need your help. Come on - give them a hand! I am not a conspiracy theorist. But I trust Noam and the rest on that list.
My suspicion is, these widows want to know how and who exactly dropped the ball and why we were exposed. I am all for that. I have always said the conspiracy was in the cover-up of the intelligence and fbi failures to stop the attacks. not to mention the grotesque lies told after to illegally invade Iraq. Having said that I do not believe any rogue element of our government planned and executed 9/11 or deliberately allowed it to happen.

And to pass a 300+ page bill which was already written and ready to go without it even being read?

The website told me that the petition was closed at the request of the author.
In any event, one helluva piece calling for others to sign on now that Chomsky has. Yeah anhailla, it most certainly is a coverup. Way more widespread than you care to imagine. |

I have great respect for Noam as well...... I believe w/ the cheney doctrine they didn't need a conspiracy or much else evidence wize......... If there is a one percent chance of something/anything bush/cheney believe they are just to act preemptively & w/ overwhelming force........... If later it is proved that they acted callously or inappropriately (to put it mildly) then some other "good"/plan B can be sold as justification........ W/ fear hanging over the heads of American ppl the deaths of faceless/nameless savages & their offspring seems a small price to pay for our comfort & security......... The fact that most Americans do not think in terms "others" but self alone, would seem to indicate this is not going to change in a long time..........

Noam Chomsky has made his opinions of 9/11 conspiracy lies well known. He doesn't buy into them for a nanosecond.
The petition he signed has to do with incompetency. It seeks to find specifics about what the US knew of the attacks, and what preventative steps they took. Every person here that argues against the 9/11 conspiracy lies would sign that petition. We all agree that the Bush administration was incompetent that day, and few were held accountable. Noam seems to agree with us. But regardless of how conspiracy liars may try to spin this, Noam does not in any way shape or form support the "truth" (lol) cult. |

Maybe I missed the post, but I have not seen anybody here say that Noam said that.
![]() Noam just stated the obvious. What is so difficult about that? It is "connecting the dots" after having looked "at the big picture" which is difficult. For some people. I'm sure Noam is like every other swingin' dick--he would prefer NOT to contemplate the brutal reality of having a government that, while under hijack and duress, practices terrorism. It ain't fun. ![]() |

Chomsky accuses the american gov't of terrorism all the time. If only chomsky could be as "brave" and intelligent as you, right Ptech? Then I'm sure he would support the "truth" (lol) movement. He doesn't believe in the 9/11 conspiracy lies because he says the science used by the conspiracy liars is juvenile. He also focuses a lot of attention on middle east politics and says that to suggest that Al Qaeda wasn't repsonsible for (or capable of) pulling off 9/11 is outrageous.
