No idiot, they first gave a Hurricane watch for Southern Florida all the way from half way up the East Coast to the keys. It was then upgraded to a Hurricane warning for a reduced area. And obviously you have no idea how big hurricanes are because missing by 75 miles isn't that much, hurricane winds can extend a great distance from the center of the storm.
