I wonder if you have actually read Ike's Farewell Address in which he first used the term MIC. I doubt it. If you had, you would know that your remarks above about corporations were redundant. It was corporations he was talking about.

It makes you look bad my friend, when you offer all these pronouncements about things you have not studied or examined first hand. Taking the Kean Commission's report at face value is a grievous error if one expects to be taken seriously.
Ah but I have. I just have drawn different conclussions than you.

As to Ike, I have read it. The way I read it, he seems to be talking more of industry (defense contractors and possibly oil interests) combining with government (after office job offers) to use the military for profit garnering foreign policy.
I expand that to include a bigger corporate picture that combines mega-corporations with government to control and profit from multiple sources: Military, prisons, laws, downsizing citizen rights, and the like. A reverse socialism with the taint of fascism.

I don't imbue 'secret societies' with the power that you do. What you attribute to them in secret I attribute to corporations. Corporations don't have to hide in secret as they use their money and influence to change the laws so they don't have to hide. The illuminati and such can only dream of the power and money that Exxon, Carlyle, and Wal-Mart hold absolutely.

Ptech is going down hill
Ike pointed out that up until just after WWI, america had turned plowshares into weapons to fight its wars. (Recall that the sentiment behind the Third Amendment was to have a constitutional prohibition against a standing army--that sentiment failed, and the amendment was all that remained.)

Ike was cautioning against a (new) full time armament industry, similar to the Krupps of Germany. He was concerned that such an industry, in an unholy and invisible marriage with government, had the potential to completely steer government policy and actions.

He was right, in spades. Today our arms industry absolutely drives government policy.

The ONLY way the events of 11 September could have happened is with the direct, but invisible, cooperation of the military. From the radar spoofs, to the drones, to the fantastic explosive works, the military fingerprint is everywhere.

Like I said, tho your synopsis is very nice and good for those who aren't aware of the remarks. I extend that to Corporations in general, Krupps and Carlyle only wish they were Exxon and Wal-Mart.

As I've stated over and over, the reaction from 9/11 was in direct conflict with the MIC or CGC (Corporate Government Complex) desires, contrary to Bush's desires, and in comparison to Iraq/Iran Afghanistan is a piss-hole.

If MIC/CGC and Bush were behind 9/11 in ANY FORM OR WAY, then there would have been a direct link to Iraq and/or Iran - NOT Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia and not the Bin Ladens.

Maybe they were just trying to muddy the waters a bit?

Sure, I'll buy that Carlyle Wal-Mart thing you're talking about. Extend it to them all. IKE WAS FUCKING WARNING US.

The are so many direct links to evidence that it ain't funny, ol' buddy ol' pal. Trouble is, you cannot (or willnot) examine them. You won't take the time to look at them.

Now if my job was looking at nekid women, I reckon I wouldn't have the time either.

But I did take the time.

But no actual evidence to backup those links .. lot'so allegations and innuendo, intentional misinterpretation and most importantly pseudo intellectual speculation: the fantastic explosive works, the military fingerprint is everywhere. nuff said..
