I absolutely agree...the "malicious twoofers" I was referring to have nothing to do with pflech or duvi-doo. If you check out the exchange with POHP and I on the "they all suck thread" it explains a little more.

There are "eyes open" twoofers, (the ones that know it's bs, but have other reasons to continue the theories) and "eyes closed" twoofers like Ptech and Duvi, who have been duped.

The worst thing about this statement isn't the opening sentence that states a conjecture as if its an accepted fact. The worst thing is the subject of the paragraph is incorrect as well. There is no terroristic "pretext' to invading Iraq or the ME, only Afghanistan. It was WMD in a secular government's hands (Iraq) that was the pretext for invading the Iraq.

You've completely missed the connection. Afghanistan was the war on terrorism, Iraq was the WMD. Even now that the situation has devolved into terrorism, the whole situation still is more a clan/sect civil war than terrorism.

That 'Pearl Harbor' scenario kinda flies in the face of the fact that Afghanistan was not a distraction the MIC and Bush/Cheney wanted in their quest of an Iraqi war to be named later (at the time). The small fry Afghanistan almost derailed the plans for the big prize Iraq and maybe Iran.
Otherwise, they would've blamed SH, and placed evidence leading to Iraq. Bush certainly wouldn't have implicated his very dear, adoptive family the Saudis. Blaming OBL also kinda complicated his very lucrative partnership with Saudi Bin Laden oil.

Where were you in the runup to the invasion of Iraq? On some tropical island with no TV or newspaper?

You missed all the stories about uranium in Niger, aluminum rocket tubes that were represented as centrifuge equipment, the Downing Street Memo, Colin Powell's lies and fear-mongering at the UN, etc, etc.

I totally agree on that point Brian. I was amazed that the damn fools could not even plant some WMD.

Trouble is, I guess, if they had, any such weapons would all have had US markings on them, which would have strained credulity. I doubt the Chinese or the Russians would have provided us any of theirs as plants.

That little error proves nothing though. Many other sources did not believe there were WMD. Ritter's inspections and others revealed no such weapons. Wilson's report showed the lie about the Niger deal.

They were concocted out of thin air by the Mendacious Ones.
