feel free to burn the flag. it's your right to do so.
it's also rarely done. which shows that most of us cherish our freedoms for radical protest, but prefer working within the system.

I don't burn the flag. Fire is dangerous and it could easily get out of control. I show my protest by placing my hands on my hips and grimacing at the flag like I'm a bit miffed.

I, for one, find it incredibly humorous and downright sad that a few people think burning the flag is a more serious offense than a war built upon lies and deceit. Bornright seems to have gotten misty eyed at the very first mention of the words "flag" and "burning". What? Would you rather throw Old Glory in a trash bin than burn it and send its ashes Heavenward?

The flag does NOT represent the people anymore. Unfortunately, it seems to be nothing more than a propagandist emblem. "These colors don't run!" And, again, unfortunately, these colors don't think. We've become a nation of shoot first, ask questions later. And I can almost guarantee you, if I was to burn an american flag, I would end up on the national terrorist list. That is what this nation has come to. If you don't practice your rights, you become a "pussified patriot", but if you DO, well, you're asking for trouble, Mister.

Pass me the flag and a match...

It is odd to me that the respect and honor that most of Americans feel toward the flag and what it symbolizes is of no value to many of you. You show no respect as you feel it has absolutely no meaning yet when three young children hang nooses in a tree in Jena, La. you are wanting to hang them. The symbol of the noose is absolutely meaningless to most Americans including most black Americans. This is something that a small minority of people are offended by and we should respect them by not hanging nooses. Perhaps people should respect the majority of the US people and not disrespect the flag.

Maybe you should stop putting your faith in a piece of cloth. Getting all blubbery because the flag is nothing more than a flag. You are a pussified "patriot", Bornwhacked. Seriously. You say it represents the Constitution and so much more, yet anyone who wants to excersise their freedom to burn the flag gets the Bornwhacked Boot? And how can you claim to speak for most black americans? Are you black? You claim its the same, yet a noose automatically conjurs up images of fear and hatred. OH WAIT!!! So does the flag to many, many people.

Did you all catch the famous Conservative Spin move? See how he redirected? That Bornwhacked is a crafty one...or so he thinks.
