Oh please. Stage actors could sprain their leg jumping off a 2 foot crate. It wasn't Booth that killed Lincoln. Lincoln conspired with Mary Todd to commit suicide...yeah that's it!

Lincoln was not actually shot that night. It was a distant relative of the actor Kevin Klein who bore a remarkable resemblance to Lincoln and was hired as a stand in for him while Lincoln was actually off on a two day tryst with his former log splitting workmate, Tess Fortblau. When Lincoln learned of the assassination he never returned and went on to live a happy life with Tess. They raised four children, a boy and three girls, ancestors of whom are members of this very board. Lincoln died in 1879 in Stamford, CT, where he had a successful men's hat business.
