Gifts with heart...

Only Malky is safe from this trend I have this xmas...

https://secure.worldwildlife.org/ogc/

I was recalling where dadakarma said she made donations in her friends' names which is neat idea. Yet, for little kids, I think they need something they can hold to understand. Anyone know of other sites that offer something similar?

This is SUCH a good idea! I would love some suggestions of other sites with more exotic animals...I found one that you can adopt a grizzly bear or a wolf, but you have to donate $100 to get the animal. You also got an adoption certificate and a refrigerator magnet with your animal's pic on it.

In my city, we have Angel Trees with the names of needy children on them. You simply select as few or many "angels" as you want to buy for, and then purchase the gift that the child is wishing for on the card. The folks at the charity, where you drop it off, will wrap it and deliver it "from Santa."

These youngsters don't have much, and your present will probably be about the only thing they will get for Christmas.

anyone see the Seinfeld where George gave his co-workers certificates that said a donation had been made in their names to the "human fund"? and there was no such thing? a brilliant idea

Cookie, we are talking about GETTING something for our generous gift. Please keep your selfless ideas to yourself.

Well sort of - I tend to not buy gifts for adults in my family but just the kiddies. Therefore, I'd like it to be something tangible for them.

my favourite part was the "feats of strength". hilarious

on a somwhat related note, i took my Sweetie to "Bee Movie" last night, and it was surprisingly good. pretty funny for a cartoon and Seinfeld did a good job in it.
