actually bill mahers board was totally unmoderated for what all of 2002 and some of 2003. safesearching ran it but took no interest in the posters or their squabbles. it was kind of fun in a wild wild west kinda way. if it weren't for a poster who started posting hardcore porn, it would probably still be unmoderated and quite truthfully that would be better then what they have now become but times change and it is what it is.

but i suspect bill would prefer how it use to be compared to what it has become since he is for free speech. it really use to be a board of individuals because of the complete lack of moderation but i foresee cliques and assimilation with the introduction of mods from the community.

anyway not dissing this board or it's mods or how it is run because i joined knowing full well, unlike bill's where i joined and they changed ~ but i am sticking up for a type of board some of us here came from and use to enjoy. but it is a type of board for people who are very secure and confident because the meek do not survive.

wayside ~ i look forward to dropping by and mixing it up. (who ever thought we'd be on friendly terms lol)

I see these boards the way I see hockey. You either like the present NHL, with all its rules, replays, regulations...or you like old time hockey where if two lads had a disagreement on the ice they dropped the mitts and settled it. Now you rarely saw a genuine tough guy going after a non-fighter on the other team. The guys that roughed it up knew what they were doing and took care of business...the rest didn't get inovolved but were all part of the game. Same here. You don't see posters who can't take care of themselves getting involved in the "tough stuff." We don't need an "instigator rule."

As far as you and me being on friendly terms...I just got sick of being scared to death of you.

do you remember eric lindros first all star game lol he skated around and kept hitting all the all stars. i don't know what made me think about that but it was funny as hell.

i don't know ~ i like both types of hockey. the old way was probably more exciting but the new way improves the game on many levels. it's all about finding a balance between brawn and talent imo. smiles ~ not a easy balance.

lol at "scared to death of you"

That's when he was a healthy 245 lbs. too. I remember all the WTF looks he got.

I love the speed, hate the cheap shots. Get rid of the instigator rule and you calm everything down.
