The Right Brain vs Left Brain test

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe

RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

I only see her spinning clockwise. The only way I could see her spinning counter-clockwise is if I look at her from below.

Is that a statement or a question my love ?. I see her spinning clockwise and cannot see how you could see otherwise. Though won't dispute the possibility. An interesting post and illusion if it is one.

I don't understand how anyone could see it spinning counterclockwise. Is that the trick? The term anti-clockwise? What does that even mean?

Anticlockwise is just the international English (British English) equivalent of "counterclockwise". The article was hosted on an Aussie site.

As far as seeing the woman spin anti/counter-clockwise, try looking at her reflection in the floor rather than the woman herself. I'm not sure what this has to do with left/right brain. I've seen this image before, and I think everyone initially sees her spinning clockwise because of her pose. However, the reflection clearly reveals her to be spinning counter-clockwise.

You're right Kana! If you, say twirl your finger in the direction she's spinning while watching her, you'll realize she is spinning counter-clockwise. Very odd. I wonder if the basis of the test has to do with realizing that. Cause you're right it's the pose that makes it seem as if she's spinning clockwise. But then if you look at just her foot on the floor and spin your finger with that, it's clockwise.

I so confused . . .

Teri, I think it has something to do with her shadow. My perception of her direction changes from clockwise to counter-clockwise when I focus on the shadow, but for me, she's spinning clockwise....

I have a headache!
