Being Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus is Hard work!

I have new respect for all those Santas out there.

Have a heart this year and a little Christmas Spirit. Give that Santa a smile and a Merry Christmas please!

My sweet hubby did the Santa thing for a charity to help Adopt Shelter Kitty Cats.

Being Santa is hard.

The suit will make you sweat. The beard will make you itchy.

We found out when we got there--it wasn't kids coming to see Santa....nope. Dogs. Pictures of pets with Santa.

We also took pictures with 5 cats and one guinea pig. There were also about five pit bulls that we watched quite carefully before allowing them to have their pictures taken--carefully. They actually seemed quite friendly; however, I was glad when they left.

The woman in charge asked me upon our arrival if I could set up the camera printers because the person who was doing it was late. Nothing was ready. What did the guy do when he showed up? He started yelling at me and the person who worked there for doing it wrong. I cut him off immediately and told him I was Mrs. Santa and I did not work there. I guess he realized he was an asshole because he stopped yelling at the poor kid who did work there too. So, that was good.

Then the woman told my husband he couldn't pull down his beard and breathe in between pictures. He was to STAY in character. I asked if she thought the dogs would cry if they saw Santa with his beard off. She gave me a look and said, "what?" in that way they do when they think will make you take it back and say something lame and different. Ooops...wrong gal, love. I repeated myself, "do you think the doggies will cry if they see Santa with his beard off?" She decided to leave us alone.

Thankfully the people with the pets were quite wonderful. The dogs were cute. Nobody got bit. No dogs got into fights. It really went quite well. There were some really adorable well behaved pets and big people and little people.

Kitty cats were adopted.

It was a good day. But it was a hard day. We started at 10:30. By 1:00 o'clock my head was pounding. By four o'clock I was very pleased to be done.

It was a tough good day.

So take a little pity on Santa even if you're feeling a little cynical this year. There's a good chance he's volunteering. He's hot; He's itchy; he's probably a good guy.

Merry Christmas!

My spouse took the dogs to get their picture taken at Petco yesterday. Along with the photograph they are sending us a digital pic to our e-mail. When it gets here I'll post it.
