Not to be a smart ass DEEEZ, but there is a white Crabapple. Pic link:

The blossoms are big...each petal is probably three or four inches long. If I put my index fingers and thumbs together in an oval, that's probably about the size of each petal, maybe a little bigger. They're such a pale pink that they are nearly white with a deeper pink in the center.

I'll take a few pics when it blooms and if I ever find the little connecter cable thingy for my camera and set up a photobucket account, I'll post them!

It doesn't look at all like the crabapple blossom pictures here.

Wow...it seems like there are a lot of white varieties

I've never seen anything but reddish ones, w/red apples to match.

And I've seen a ton of them. Maybe they don't grow up north, or maybe I just thought they were reg. apple trees when flowering in the spring

K's tree is truly an enigma, if it has giant petals AND little green apples/

Ok, now that sounds like it might be a Magnolia soulangiana:

Does the flower look like this?

Click on "Habit" on that site (to the right) and you can see a very old, big tree...

That could very well be it! For some reason I think petals are a little more pointy and the center of the blossom is a little different, but that was a pretty close up shot. That is VERY close, if not it.

On mine the branches hang to less than a foot from the ground, so the shot of the whole tree looks very different than mine. Like I said, I know they need to be trimmed, but I just can't do it. The kids would kill me and I have come to love the shape of it. I'll take some pics when it blooms.

And I'm calling my mom in the morning. Now it's bugging me.

There's a large tree growing right in the middle of my lilac bush. This male cardinal has been singing from it for three mornings in a row

Well, we have a late Spring frost coming it seems. I already have my herb garden renewed, and we planted several varieties of tomatoes and peppers. I'm glad I was slow in getting the front garden planted.

I'm jealous...up here, we don't even think about putting in most plants until after June 1

Peas, Broccoli, spinach, maybe...

DH just told me the peas are already sprouted up, so we might lose them too. The weather isn't allowed to DO this! Sniff...
