lol......... We have them here all over as well............

Some ppl eat them............

I use to get poison oak real bad as a kid when we would go up in the hills. Now it is not so bad.... But of course I avoid it......

Nice night here......... We get a delta breeze in the evening on most nights even the hot summer nights......... It rarely gets down past Mantecca & Salida on the lower part of the valley though......

I did something similar one year, and it worked fairly well. The only problem I had was that I had to tend to them every day, as the roots didn't like the hot sun beating on the pots. I loved not having to stake them up, but ultimately decided to opt for my buckets buried in mulch. Tomato roots will fill up their container in no time, making them very succeptible to wilting.

I'm sure there is a way to devise a system to shade the roots from the sun, and it would probably be the best way to grow tomatoes.

I just knew there was a drawback somewhere! I buried my pots though like you suggested.

No I never did. Sure is pretty though. I remember poison oak and ivy. My mother made us bathe in Oxydol laundry soap and bleach. Surprised I was ever able to have children!

You know it's good you have some property because one day maybe you could retire there. Property in California is like gold.
My parents bought a house with a huge backyard and double lot in 1969 in Pasadena for $25g and then in '74, my ex brother in law bought it from them for about $40g and turned around and sold it for $250g! It was on Mentor street near the downtown area. My mother never got over that as long as she lived.
