Sorry I missed this post Teri. Did you find any good eating joints while you were there?

Things are starting to bud out here, and it's almost time to prepare the ground for planting. Is anyone else planning a garden this year?

Oh Yes!

I have an Herb Garden and Flower Beds in front of the House. Hubby does the Vegetable Garden, it's really big, and he always plants enough (too much) stuff for all our Family, Neighbors and Friends. We load them down with Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Zucini, Squash, Potatoes, Corn and whatever else he's planting that year.

In my Herb Garden I grow Lavender, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Mugwort, Lemon Balm and Verbena, Comfrey (i swear by that stuff! has awesome healing properties, for external use only!) Hyssop, Basil, Valerian and Saint Johns Wort (the one with the little flowers) among other stuff I'm growing, that I can't think of right at this moment.

The Flower Garden is mostly geared toward the Humming Birds, Butterflies and Bees. What they like. Got some Azaelia Bushes. And Sunflowers for the little yellow Birds (finches?) they just l o v e those Seeds!

But right now, it's still too cold. And today, it's raining, which is good.

Happy Gardening!

I like pansies, but we don't have much choice in cold weather around here:

I do! I have Hummy Feeders all over the Place! I love to watch them, and they come buzzing around my Head, when I'm weeding. I had one last Summer (a ruby red throat) who sat on a Sunflower Branch, in front of my Kitchen Window, and it watched every move I made. That was so sweet!

Can't wait for them to come back!

I feed them and have for years! I love them.....last year, I had a very territorial male ruby throat......he would perch on a branch not too far from the feeder, and woe to any other hummingbird (male OR female) who stopped for a drink...he'd come flying down at them, with a high-pitched angry whistle.....quite sumthin' to see....

I love to garden, too.....sunflowers for the finches (both the yellow and the purple ones)....lilacs (white and mauve), peonies, wild roses, mock orange trees, lilies, a wide variety of perennials........and my morning glories! I must say, they were spectacluar.....a large veggie garden with a small corner for herbs...really miss getting dirt under my nails

We have more in common than I realized! My herb garden is my favorite, and we also grow Hummer flowers and veggies.
