My computer is having a bit of a day.

Spontaneous lock-ups, shut downs, all part of the fun in it's little bag of tricks.

Am I the only person who notices typos?

I'm not referring to a quick typing sort of thing, I do that all the time, but I just noticed an itunes typo in a song title (beautiful spelled beautifiul) and it's kinda bothering me.

Also, power point presentation this evening, big lender, their logo all over the place and "expecations."

Not to be the spell check police or anything, but it does seem careless.

It pisses me off when I see typos on news/newspaper web sites.

Is it carelessness? Do they give the writers too much leeway? I don't know, but I don't like it at all. It just shows our kids that carelessness doesn't matter.

I agree.

At the VERY least, use spell check for publications. It doesn't always catch everything, but "expecations" on a power point presentation is a little more than I'm willing to accept (the phrase was in bold print, just glaring at me).

And don't even get me started on guess and go spelling.

I understand the motivation behind the concept, enabling young kids to communicate through the written word at an earlier age, but it takes a few years to make them realize that it does matter. You have to undo the carelessness that they learned in school.

Also vital to the discussion, roasted peanuts in their shells hamper one's typing abilities and contain addictive properties.
