I think that's still the only place I've ever had lingonberries

The Tribune Co. needs to sell the team.

The sell is eminent. I actually have memorabilia from childhood before they bought it.

I haven't been keeping up, but when I left, they were talking about Mark Castro buying them.

There was also talk about leaving Wrigley Field. They had to but up nets last year to prevent crumbling plaster from hitting people in the walk ways.

They were talking about selling Wrigley as a separate entity/deal; i.e. not conveying with the purchase of the team. Zeil wants as much money as he can get from selling off parts of the company and he's a fan of the China Town team that uses that gay DH rule so he really could care less about the team itself or their fans.

Well, that's the thing isn't it? There are a lot of 'Cubs fans' who don't know dick-all or care about baseball, Wrigley Field is just the world's largest beer garden, in a yuppie-fied , image is everything neighborhood.

They don't have to field a decent team to turn a profit.

McDonald's could easily sell a better hamburger, but why should they? People are buying the one's they've got.

Wrigley is the WORST PLACE to get a burger! DISGUSTING! You only eat hotdogs and drink Old Style there. Anyway... If they ever build a new ballpark it should be one of those new jobs designs that float around Lake Michigan.

The burger thing was an analogy.

I don't think they could what they did to Soldier Field, and cap it.

And I DO think that minus Wrigley Field, the Cubs lose a lot of their fan base.

No way man. You build a state of the art ballpark that docks downtown and the during the game floats out in Lake Michigan and home runs start landing out in the water... Wrigley/Wigham/Whatever becomes a museum. Let the grandparents give up their season tickets; I'll just move faster up the list. I just can't wait until I can afford a place there for only Summers.

i used to want to be the first female major league catcher because of jody davis my family lives in indiana and i would spend my summers there, my uncle would bring us over to chicago to watch the games and i had this little notebook for every single season that i would write notes in from every single game, who did what, when, how...stats etc.

the field itself is legend, after a game one time i plan on going around the backside where the grounds crew enters, making a mad dash for the outfield wall and freeing some wrigley ivy to grow up the side of my house

sean, when you come in april, perhaps that could be my ivy day? you be my look out and i'll snag enough for you and your wife to take back to austin when you go home

Fantastic! Just don't accidentally come anywhere near any of the players, it's now a felony if you haven't heard. You don't have to make contact. If Mike makes the team I may be able to arrange that for you actually. If not I'd have to ask him to ask Ryan for any favors and I feel weird doing that.
