Electrical retailer Comet surveyed 2,000 Britons, asking them what they would give up for a large television, one of the latest consumer "must-haves."

The firm found 47 percent of men would give up sex for half a year, compared to just over a third of women.

"It seems that size really does matter more for men than women," the firm said.

A quarter of people said they would give up smoking, with roughly the same proportion willing to give up chocolate.

For 6 months, you don't state such important information in the thread title lol. Considering it has been a while since I "got any" I wouldn't be bothered about "giving it up" for 6 months to get myself a 50" plasma TV

I heard about this yesterday and asked some of the guys around here.

Once they were assured it was a flat screen plasma television, it was a yes almost down the line.

Most of them said they've weathered dry spells worse than that and and didn't even get a new applaince to make up for it.

I can't help but think about the "sex discussion" scene in Life of Brian when the husband didn't seem to concerned about having sex more than once every two or three years anyway, "because we're protestant."

I'm thinking the men in the study are also thinking to themselves they would time the six months during the Premier Football League schedule.
