This afternoon 4 separate animal control officers were spotted with tranquilizer guns aimed and ready to fire as a crowd of zoo patrons gathered in a crowd thinking that a tiger had escaped.

No....just my spouse and his sister chasing after a runaway German Shepard. It took 2 hours of chasing the animal around the Land Park area of Sacramento to corner it behind the zoo.

Home owners were unable to get animal control to respond all morning to capture the large animal but when the off duty Correctional Officer placed a call explaining the dangers of the animal running out into the main roads to the park and Zoo (which were both filled with Sunday visitors) officials sent out all available officers to capture the dog. Eventually cornering the Shepard by the zoo near a crowd, the Animal control officer tranquilized the animal for a third time then taking it into custody.

No collar, no avid chip....and for Jeff and his sister.....no trip to the zoo today!
