It's when you get into the 2500 series like me and Deez that it starts to hurt. But if you need it, it means your making money with it.

That wasn't the case anymore with me. It's just a huge hulking mass transporting me in NW Boston , which by nearly anyone's standards is "trafficy".

Plus I won't be the first one who gets the call when something needs to be moved or transported. With kids all grown I even had a single cab so I had all 8ft of bed to help people move. I'm changing careers so maybe it's appropriate that I change vehicles.

There was a time, when you could keep it and suffer through the bumpy ride. Now, the cost to run is a deciding factor.

Mine will be 3 yrs. old at the end of April. It has 20k on it.

As you mentioned...I make money every time I turn the key...otherwise, it sits.

And yea...funny how you have lots of "friends" when you have a pickup. Good thing I don't have a plow, too!

Very nice. Did you go with the Green line? I've been looking at that one.

I've done some research comparing Hybrid choices. Red line or Green line---The Saturn Vue is a very nice vehicle and very well rated.

I wish I had the money to go green, but it wasn't in the budget. Unfortunately they weren't in my price range. I like my new job/career change, but it has put a serious and fixed (for now), dent in my income.

That's how I bought cars when I lived in the lower 48. I knew what I wanted, called the different dealerships, and told them to give me the best deal they could. Then I'd make another round of calls to the other dealers telling them what I had, could they do better, etc. Saved a lot of time.
Now that I'm in Anchorage, I've learned nobody negotiates so I don't waste my time.

Update:

It's got a dead spot in the powerband right at about 40mph. Which is to be expected with some 4cylinders. It's not there 0-50mph, but does sort of bog out when your just approaching 40mph in normal driving conditions. You've got to sort of step on it and then it excelerates. But it is designed for milage and not sport.

Love the XM radio, I'm going to be bummed when my free subscription is over, I might just opt for it. NHL hockey talk, jazz of 3 different genres, a couple comedy stations one PG the other R rated. Most of all very few commercials.

Onstar I haven't even activated. I know I'm not going subscribe to it, so I don't want to even think about getting used to it.

Air inflation sensor is lit up on the dash. So one of these days I'm going to have to pull over and put 2 1/2 psi in a tire or two, or what ever it takes to get the damn thing to shut off. Sort of a useless option, very gimicky.

No interior hatch pop (mechanical or electric button). Hit the remote unlock 3 times and it allows you to open the rear hatch via a rubber boot covered button. Battery dies, your fucked if you want to open the hatch. Same with the gas-fill cover.

Get a lot of good comments on the styling, people like the way it looks. The sliver does stay clean looking.
